The Mare-ionette

Every hero needs villains and its time to start building Mega Filly's rouges gallery.  First up (though not first envisioned) is the magical puppet Mare-ionet

Name: Mare-ionette (no other alias)
Age: appears as a pony of mid twenties, her actual age is unknown
Species: An earth pony marionette string puppet
Occupation: Was in the show business, but is now a super villain

Favorite foods: She doesn't eat.

Back story: Created in a puppet shop by a kind old puppetier Mare-ionette was just a normal life sized pony puppet untill one day the puppet maker wishing for a friend had a magical fairy bring Mare-ionette to life to grant his wish.  She remained a faithfull companion and a star in his many shows, becoming a popular sensation as the stringless puppet.  During their travils Mare-ionette became infatuated by a handsome stallion whom she tried to win the affection of, however the stallion turned down her affections claiming he couldent love her because she was not real.  In her determination to prove herself to him she left the service of her puppeet master and began to search the world in search of a solution.  After some time she found a book detailing wood magic from which she learned of a possible enchantment that would transform her into a real pony.  Needing a particuarly strong burst of emotional magical energy she figured that if she could get a kiss of true love it would be enough to power the spell.  Returning to her stallion in hopes to get the kiss to finish the spell she found him with another mare, the sight of which broke her wooden heart.  Angry at the other mare she ambushed her when she was alone and reversing the spell transformed her into a wooden puppet whom she then used to frighten the stallion who in fear fled.  She then figured that if she cant be real then she would transform the whole world into puppets so that no pony was real.

Personality: Mare-ionette used to be kind and peacefull but since discovering the stallion she loved was with another her heart has been broken and hard.  She is sadistic to others, happily tormenting real ponies and careless of their suffering.  She herself is vain, proud and feels that she deserves attention, fame and fortune which she has given up since she stopped the show business.  While initially cold to her victims she begins to warm up to them the longer she has transformed them into puppets, feeling only puppets are worth her attention and feelings.  This leads her often to being attracted to her captives, but as they are under her spell they are unable to return such feelings (unlikely they have any positive ones) which often only makes her more frustrated.  She tends to be a bit dramatic often exaggerating her speech and actions and its arguable she is insane as shell often have conversations with her puppets even though its only her talking with two different voices.

Abilities: Mare-ionette Is a skilled puppet manipulator both of living and non living puppets.  She can put on a very convinceing show.  She can also imitate any voice she hears almost flawlessly as well as throw her voice and use ventriloquism.

Powers: Mare-ionette has a variety of powers based on her magic abilities and her puppet nature.
Puppet creation and controll- Mare-ionettes most notable and dangeorus power is her ability to transform other living beings into wooden puppets which she can then controll.  Any puppet she controlls she has full access to their special abilties and powers though she cant access their skills or memories.  How she does this is by useing a puppet cross that shoots out several strings and each string that attaches to a body part transforms that body part into a puppet limb, so if a string snares an arm then that arm goes puppet.  The process is not painfull but very frightening as the person looses full controll of that limb and if all the strings hit then the entire individual transforms into a wooden puppet fully under her controll.  While a person is so controlled the strings become thin and difficult to see but if they are cut then they regain controll of that limb untill she can restring it.  This is not a mind controll effect so much as a sort of transformation one.  When controlling others like this she can controll one with full mobility, two if she sits down and three if she uses her mouth though that makes her unable to speak.  In order to controll someone directly she needs to be able to see her victems so she often hides to avoid attracting attention.  If a victem is left in puppet form for over 24 hours then the transformation becomes more pernament and she is able to controll them without the use of her magical marionete crosses.  These poor individuals are suspetable to her every whim and it takes a powerfull magic to reverse the effect.  She can mentally control as many of these permanent puppets as she pleases with little strain or side effect.
Flying cross- She has a magical flying marionette cross which she often sits on and uses to oversee those she is controlling or for quick transportation.
String shot- She can fire strings from her hooves that can ensnare others, often used when she is on the move or to quickly contain her adversaries.
Puppet traits- She is still a puppet and has certain traits.  She does not need to breathe, eat or sleep, poisons and toxins don't work on her unless they work on wood. 
Durability - Being made out of magical wood she is more durable than one might expect.  While she can still take damage she is tough and more resilient to attacks than any other pony of flesh and blood.  She can also survive having her body parts separated (see below) and can often find some way to return when she is seemingly destroyed.
Separation control- She can separate her body parts and control them over any distance.  Useful sometimes for doing things at a distance but unless she can see what she is doing its not very effective.  It also allows her to continue fighting if her head is removed.
Strength- While not super strength she is stronger than average, able to pick other ponies up and exert herself without ever tiring.
Wood magic- Mare-ionette is able to use certain kinds of wood magic such as growing trees, shaping wood or strengthening wood.


Weaknesses: Mare-ionette has a few weaknesses.  One odd trait about her is that she cannot lie or fabricate a truth.  This doesn't mean she is obliged to answer any question, it simply means that she cant fib.  She can however choose to withhold information, give only as much as is asked or divulge what others told her that she takes as fact.  Her other weakness is her wooden body which means she can only float on water and is vulnerable and afraid of fire.


Fighting: She rarely fights on her own, only doing so to escape or until she can transform someone else into a puppet and then shell direct that person to fight for her.
Romance life: She had a romantic intrest in another pony untill he turned her down because she wasent a real pony, leaving her with a broken wooden heart and a reluctance to try finding love again.  But who knows, she might find some pony who can see past that wooden exterior.

Rp opportunity:  Mare-ionette often did not mix and mingle with others, her appearance set her apart too easily, but she had recently received a tip off that there was a very prominent individual nearby.  One who if she could turn into a puppet would be able to pull the strings of to her advantage.  She had to first scout out this individual so get a feel for them before she made her move, hence the disguise which was one of a rather fancy dress, hat and to hide her mouth a veil.  She knew she had to be careful so as to kidnap the victim and hold them for 24 hours without interference, so she needed to be careful.  Thus she set out to mingle with others and see if she couldn't find her new plaything.
(can be a hero she wants to capture and puppefy, perhaps shell meet a villain of similar interest... ill leave it up to you, doesn't even need to be a pony, though at least a setting where ponies can exist.)
